Meet Brittany Lee McDonald: Actor. Comedian. Part-Time Koala. Disco Ball Enthusiast.

It’s a wonder that Brittany Lee McDonald ever finds time to sleep. When she’s not working on Go Get the Axe, in which she plays Margaret Tanner, you might find her hosting two character shows in New York—“Perfect Strangers” and “Wigging Hour”—or running around the city dressed up as a koala bear just for fun (don’t worry, her sister—who accompanied her—documented the whole thing).

“Basically I’m just a character comedian person in the city,” says Brittany. It’s a very accurate assessment. Here are a few things you didn’t know about Brittany, in her own words.

1. THE FIRST MOVIE SHE CRIED AT WAS LILO AND STITCH.

I remember thinking, "Whoa. This is what it's like to cry because of a movie... danng."

2. SHE ONCE TOUCHED A COCKROACH'S FACE AND SQUISHED A BIG-BODIED SPIDER WITH HER BARE FINGER.

Don't worry. It wasn't on purpose.

3. SHE ONCE HAD A LENGTHY CONVERSATION WITH JIM GAFFIGAN ABOUT STAGE FRIGHT.

You know, because I have it.

4. SHE ONCE WOKE UP WITH A SPOONFUL OF PEANUT BUTTER IN HER MOUTH.

I guess you can say that I've cheated death.

5. GO GET THE AXE HAS BEEN A FUN DEPARTURE FROM HER USUAL WORK.

I primarily do comedy stuff, so Go Get the Axe has been a rewarding experience, and a sensitive gift, to be able to honestly wonder what I would give to have 30 more minutes with a loved one who died. I won't tell you what I would give, but I'll tell you that I'd probably disco dance for 30 minutes. So, I just think that this show is missing a disco ball. I guess I've just always wanted to own a disco ball. Just like, a really big one. I just want a disco ball to encompass the entire room. You know? I think anyone would agree. There's still time; maybe I can sway the production team to have a disco ball as the only source of stage lights. Makes sense.
